Kuala Lumpur/Singapore – 15 September, 2021 – TechStorm, Southeast Asia’s fastest growing and defacto largest 24/7 entertainment network brand on esports, gaming and tech thematic announces its expanded distribution partnership with award-winning IPTV service, unifi TV by Telekom Malaysia Berhad. Starting 1 October, 2021, TechStorm flagship programmes which feature a compelling line-up of esports, gaming, tech and start-up shows will be available on unifi TV Channel 505 (on media box and unifi Plus Box) and unifi PlayTV app (for OTT).
This fresh, milestone-driven partnership further consolidates TechStorm’s position as a leading 24/7 pan-Asian esports and tech entertainment network regionally across Southeast Asia in barely over two years since its inception back in early 2019. Its growth is a strong response to the network’s increased popularity and a rapidly rising demand for its best-in-class, exclusive entertainment targeting the tech-loving and mass esports spectator audience.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of what has been branded the ‘Asian Esports phenomenon’, catering to the content consumption trends among the youth and young families in Malaysia and beyond. In tandem with our new platform partner unifi TV’s robust market strength in Malaysia and a strong foothold with the digital community, we see tremendous opportunity to ramp up viewership and look forward to bringing the best entertainment to a wider Malaysian community and audience over IPTV,” says Debbie Lee, Founder and CEO of TechStorm.
This development comes off the back of TechStorm’s most recent launch announcement in Hong Kong, following a trail blazing record of hugely successful launches across Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand.
“We are incredibly proud to introduce TechStorm to all our unifi TV subscribers. Our subscribers will get the chance to enjoy first-hand remarkable and exclusive Asian esports and tech content within our eclectic suite of entertainment channels, delivered digitally through our unifi Home Broadband and mobile services. We are certain that this resonates with the growing demographic of esports spectators. This channel can be enjoyed via our unifi Plus Box as well as on-the-go via unifi PlayTV app,” comments Ho Hock Doong, Head of Content, unifi TV.
From 1 October 2021 to 31 October 2021, all unifi TV viewers will be treated to what TechStorm has to offer through a free preview at home and on the go, including reality TV show Meet The Drapers S4 featuring renowned American venture capitalist Timothy Drapers, airing every Tuesday at 10pm, as well as science and technology innovation challenge programme, Intelligence AI Mission S3, airing every Monday at 9pm.
Esports fanatics can catch world-class commentary for popular games such as 12th Esports World Championship Dota 2 Regional Tournaments and CS:GO on TechStorm’s dedicated esports time-belt, airing weeknights at 11pm; and Gamerz S2, world’s first esports reality series, airing on Fridays at 9pm; followed by E-Sports Revolution, featuring legendary esports players and streamers.
