PlayStation has kicked off a software beta for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 starting from Wednesday.
According to PlayStation, gamers will be able to personalise their console experience and accessibility settings.
One of the beta features being rolled out includes group chats – they can now either be an open (public) or closed (private).
An open party will allow your friends to see and join the party without being invited, whereas a closed party means only invited players may join.
PlayStation is also testing a feature that enables voice commands, allowing you to find and open games and apps on the PS5 using just your voice.
This preview is only open to beta participants with accounts registered to the US and UK.
If you have a PS4, this feature will be nothing new. The console has had voice commands ability since it was launched.
PlayStation is also rolling out more Screen Reader (which reads aloud on-screen text) languages, including Arabic, Polish and Korean.
Gamers will also be able to enable mono audio for headphones so the same audio is played from both sides of the headphones, instead of a stereo or 3D audio mix. PlayStation said the feature should benefit players with unilateral hearing loss.
As always the PS5 and PS4 betas are only open to selected participants in applicable countries, and although some features shown here may differ from the final system software updates, it will still be available to all when it rolls out globally later this year.
