It’s 4 May and that means, happy Star Wars Day!
Despite the franchise being 45 years old this year, the epic space-opera is still going strong.
Another animated Star Wars anthology is reportedly in the works, destined to join nine other films, three anthologies and an animated film.
That’s not including all the video games that’s been released – almost 100 of them.
And more are on their way.
We take a look at how many Star Wars games are there in development right now:
Star Wars: Hunters is a free-to-play multiplayer game coming this year for the Nintendo Switch and mobile.
Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the game will feature characters like stormtroppers, bounty hunters and rebellion heroes. Players will game in real-time, in settings inspired by Star Wars.
Developed by mobile gaming developer Zynga, best known for FarmVille, Hunters is the first console game developed by them.

2: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2
Two years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the sequel is back and in development.
Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games confirmed this in January, and said it will be developed by Respawn – the studio behind Titanfall and Apex Legends.
It’s unknown what timeline Fallen Order 2 will be set in – the first takes place five years after Revenge of the Sith.

Turns out Respawn is working on two more Star Wars games – including a yet untitled Star Wars first person shooter and a Star Wars strategy game.
But we don’t know anything more yet.

4: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake
Aspyr is remaking the classic Star Wars role-playing game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
The original game, released in 2004 as an Xbox exclusive, expanded on the Star Wars universe and used RPG mechanics from the tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons.
It remains to be seen how the game is remade in its latest instalment.
Release date: TBA
5: Ubisoft’s “The Star Wars Project”
Ubisoft is also working on a Star Wars game, cryptically called “The Star Wars Project”.
The developer, known for games like Assassin’s’ Creed and The Division, has called the game “a new Star Wars adventure”, one that is story-driven and open-world.
It’ll use Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, which The Division is running on.
Release date: TBA
6: Skydance Media’s yet unnamed Star Wars game
Skydance Media is collaborating with Lucasfilm Games to produce a “narrative-drive, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy”.
And to do so, they’ve roped in writer and director Amy Hennig, more popularly known as the creative vision behind Uncharted.
Release date: TBA
First unveiled last year, Star Wars Eclipse is set during the High Republic era.
Created in collaboration between Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games, Eclipse has been described as an “intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many ways and puts the destinies of multiple playable characters in your hands.”
Players can also explore the Outer Rim, an area “rife with opportunity – and political tensions”.
The trailer gave very little details away and according to the website, the game is still “early in development”.
Release date: TBA
We could probably expect more updates about these games during the 2022 Star Wars Celebration – a festival centred around the series.
