Fancy yourself a Pokémon trainer?
You just might get the chance to prove yourself, because the Pokémon Company is launching its first ever Pokémon Battle Festival Asia!
The event kicks off this month and will last until the end of February next year. The company promises to feature regional tournaments for Pokémon Go and the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Among its highlights – the upcoming Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (to be released on 19 November) as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus, an RPG take on the game.
According to the Pokémon Company, tournaments for the event will feature players from the region, including Singapore, Indonesia and Japan.
Sadly, this won’t be an in-person event, thanks to Covid-19. Tournaments will instead take place online and players will need to qualify on a national level in order to progress to the regional stage – meaning they will be competing against the best players in the region.
