Photography tips from the pros for using your mobile phone

Singapore’s National Day celebrations is this weekend and there will be plenty of photo opportunities around the island.

Check out some NDP inspired photographs and suggestions from Singapore photographers Bryan van der Beek, Don Lee, Junaidi Lim, Zipeng Lee and Jovanne Amolat.  They were using a HUAWEI P40 Series phone to capture these scenes.

A new perspective on the everyday

One of the best parts of photography is uncovering, seeing and presenting things in a new perspective. Play on the depth of field and angles, these shots draw your eye to interesting and fresh takes on everyday subjects all around us.

Go wide for the best view

While shooting tall buildings like Marina Bay Sands and vast open areas around you, wide-angle and even ultra-wide-angle modes of shooting will let you capture as much of the peripherals as you can.

Zoom into the details

Get up close with your subject with the zoom function of your smartphone camera, and capture even the smallest of details. Explore more and delve deeper into the Singapore scenery, such as the façade of a building, or a corner of a coffeeshop.
